Legislation
The General Product Safety Directive (GPSD) became law on the 1st October 2005. The aim of the Directive is to ensure that all products sold into the market are safe.
RoHS Directive
The Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (RoHS) Regulations came into force on the 1st July 2006, implementing Directive 2002/95/EC.
Weee Directive
Electrical equipment is the fastest growing category of waste across the European Union (EU). The UK alone now generates around 1m tonnes of waste electrical equipment annually.
